Position Summary
An exciting research opportunity in the Paley Lab is available for candidates interested in immunology and human autoimmunity. We employ various techniques to investigate how T cells migrate between the gut, joint, eye, and blood to cause human autoimmune disease, such as uveitis and spondylitis.
Techniques used in the lab include:
• Processing of human tissues, e.g., blood, saliva, and cheek swabs
• PCR
• Flow cytometry
• Single cell sequencing
• T cell and B cell receptor sequencing
• Molecular cloning
• Maintenance and manipulation of cell lines
In addition, lab members interface with research coordinators and may periodically be required to interact with participants in human subjects’ research.

    Working Conditions

    This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

    Salary Range

    Base pay is commensurate with experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with patients or human subjects’ research. 
    • Experience handling human blood.
    • Experience in PCR and flow cytometry.


    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with additional education and experience are encouraged to apply.

    Salary Range

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
