Research Laboratory Worker

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
High school diploma or GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Knowledge of the field as evidenced by course work in subject matter related to the position, i.e. Introductory Geology; or similar formal training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with spreadsheets. Experience with data reduction programs.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Research Lab Worker will work closely with lab personnel to learn how to prepare samples and to use the laser.  

• Prepare rocks for laser ablation analyses.
• Laser ablation analyses.
• When the laser is running, the incumbent will be asked to accomplish other tasks such as organizing samples and populating spreadsheets for the lab. This will be done in the lab so that the incumbent can keep an eye on the automated run.
• Other duties as assigned

Flexible schedule with at least 3 hours of time in a row to commit to the job.
