Research Laboratory Technician II

A Research Lab Technician in the study of Alzheimer’s disease is needed to support the research activities of Dr. Hussein Yassine at the University of Southern California.  This is a grant supported position.

The Research Laboratory Technician plans, designs and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently and in consultation with the supervisor.  Performs research data analysis and provides interpretations.  Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records. This position involves working with animals and cells.

Analyzes and evaluates research data utilizing computers and provides interpretations requiring significant knowledge of a specialized area of research.  Searches literature, utilizing all available resources including electronic, new methodology, and designs experiments accordingly.

Hourly range

The salary range for this position is $24.23 - $26.54 per hour. Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
