Research Laboratory Technician II

Updated: about 1 month ago
Location: Omaha, NEBRASKA

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Lab Technician with expertise in genotyping, mouse handling, colony management, and histology to support our research efforts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and the success of our research projects.

The lab is equipped for modern molecular biology experiments, advanced mRNA and protein spatial distribution analysis using RNA scope and PLA assays, in vitro tests with organ cultures, and in vivo investigations with live animals. Utilizing the state-of-the-art electrophysiologic and genetic techniques combined with microscopy, the Renauld lab is focusing on the development and regulation of the stria vascularis to investigate dysfunction in inner ear homeostasis. Our current projects focus on the regulation of the endolymph and identify how stress hormones influence endolymph regulation as well as the mechanism leading to neuronal loss in Meniere’s disease. Results of this proposed work will advance our understanding of Meniere’s disease and direct us toward the development of treatments to alleviate symptoms or prevent neuronal death.
