Position Summary
This position in the Sadtler lab in the Department of Chemistry will contribute to a research project focusing on electrolysis in seawater. Duties include the synthesis and characterization of electrode materials and electrochemical analysis.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Synthesize and characterize electrode materials.
- Perform electrochemical analysis to quantify the performance of electrode materials.
- Data analysis and interpretation with input from PI.
- Write monthly reports of research progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment used in electrochemistry including potentiostats and electrochemical cell design.
- Familiarity with electrochemical techniques including cyclic voltammetry and Tafel analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with PI and other lab members.
- Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a laboratory or research setting equaling 4 years may substitute for this requirement.

Salary Range
$16.59 - $25.92 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
