A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available at the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology.  The focus of study for this position will be focused on the following projects in MCTP:

?         The focus of study for this position will be performing cell-free extractions of DNA and RNA fragments from proteins and other cellular components in various research biological samples by using physical and/or chemical methods as starting material to perform sequencing efforts downstream.

?         Additionally, the candidate is expected to perform detailed morphological analysis on human and murine tissues for biomarker discovery, understanding the tissue and tumor microenvironment, and modulatory tissue effects of novel in-development cancer therapeutics.

?         The candidate is expected to extract images for various research projects at the center using both brightfield and immunofluorescence microscopy for assembling the figures for the various research projects for presentations, and peer-reviewed publication purposes.

?         The job duties also include the knowledge and application of utilizing digital software to analyze multi-plex immunofluorescence images and using specialized skills to manually score single-plex immunohistochemistry research samples for protein quantification and localization.

?         The candidate will work as part of a team to perform routine and complex laboratory experimental procedures under the supervision of the Principal Investigators, mentors, and/or higher-level research staff.

The position will participate in research projects in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree (MD and/or PhD) with relevant experience in Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry.

The Michigan Center for Translational Pathology (MCTP) is a collaborative effort to foster research advances in molecular medicine and apply those advances as quickly as possible to benefit patient care.
