Job Summary
The Research Fellow will prepare proposals and conduct research on the technical and institutional challenges associated with the implementation of actions intended to increase seatbelt use on motorcoaches, evaluation of highway curb alternatives, and the deployment of innovative aviation technologies.
Essential Functions
Manage research projects related to motorcoach safety, highway curbing alternatives, and innovative aviation technologies.
Conduct literature reviews on highway curbing alternatives and innovative aviation technologies.
Instruct and supervise students assisting with the conduct of seatbelt counts on motorcoaches.
Perform data analyses related to motorcoach seatbelt use.
Conduct cost analyses of highway curbing alternatives.
Prepare a synthesis of the current state of ATC remote tower operations and human factor-related challenges associated with such implementations.
Prepare proposals related to motorcoach safety and innovative aviation technologies.
Other Functions

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
M.S. in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
Expertise in motorcoach safety, innovative aviation technologies, and highway curbing.

Monday – Friday, 20 hours/week
Salary Information
Your annual salary at 50% FTE (20 hours per week) will be $39,250, Appointment date: 3/1/24-2/29/25
