JOB DUTIES
Description
Under the supervision of the Clinical Research Center Administrator, you will provide coordination support for Department of Ophthalmology Clinical Research Center. Although the Principal Investigator is primarily responsible for the overall conduct and management of a clinical trial, the Clinical Research Coordinator is the back-bone of every research project while working closely with them to ensure necessary milestones are met and ultimately ensuring patient safety. Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator duties include managing the daily aspects of clinical trials under close guidance with a primary focus on research imaging studies and other ophthalmic studies as assigned by the Administrator of the Clinical Research Center. Some responsibilities include the below: * Screening of potential patients for protocol eligibility, presenting, non-medical trial details, and facilitating informed consent. * Collaboratively plan and coordinate strategies for increasing patient enrollment, workflow improvements, and personnel trainings. * Facilitate communications with key stakeholders such as internal ancillaries, sponsors, principal investigators, and research teams. * Ensure compliance with all federal and local agencies such as the FDA, Scientific Review Boards, IRBs, Office of Compliance, etc. * Document, collect and maintain accurate and timely data via paper and electronic source documents. * Reporting all data per protocol via appropriate platforms such as RedCAP, Medrio, iMedidata, etc. * Assist with the development and implementation of study protocols. * * With training, perform ocular imaging such as OCT & microperimetry/visual fields. PAY RANGE: $ 26.29 – 42.28

Qualifications
Required: * Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills including knowledge of medical terminology in order to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, faculty, private/federal agencies, and with patients. * Demonstrate writing and editing skills to complete lay language and technical documents and correspondence by given deadlines. * Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the internet. * Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction; demonstrate the ability to prioritize and perform a variety of tasks that need to be carried out simultaneously with frequent interruptions. * Demonstrate the ability to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and to work under the pressure of a busy workload. * Demonstrate the ability to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and work under pressure. * Knowledge of general ocular anatomy. Preferred: * Knowledge of In Vivo Confocal Microscopy (IVCM) and other corneal imaging techniques. * BCVA certification. * Strong background in the medical field; knowledge of UCLA’s hospital information system. * At least 1 year of experience performing ocular imaging. * BS degree in science.
