RESEARCH COMPLIANCE (UA-RCIN-IUINA)

The mission of the Office of Research Compliance  (ORC) is to ensure that research conducted by IU and affiliated researchers is not only in compliance with all applicable regulatory, statutory, and organizational requirements, but also meets the standards of best practices while minimizing impediments to research and burdens on the research community.

  • Advises and consults with review committee(s), researcher(s), or principal investigator(s) regarding federal, institutional, and other requirements for research applications.
  • Provides review and screening of research applications to ensure applications meet federal, institutional, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Consults with and advises review committee(s), researcher(s), or principal investigator(s) on the application submission process. Advises on applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, federal regulations, and other requirements for regulatory compliance.
  • Makes recommendations for streamlining review process such as the revision of applications and consent forms, investigator notification, prior categorization and assignment of application submitted, etc; performs quality checks and ensures the necessary corrective and preventive actions are completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years of related experience.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position is eligible for remote work or to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
