Pay Grade: 42

 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking applications to fill one position from extraordinarily qualified applicant as a Research Associate II. Research areas include: extensive background in thermal analysis using DSC, TGA, DMA of polymers and composites, biomass separation concepts, characterization of lignin, spinner of fiber including melt spinning, carbon fiber and reinforced composites, fiber extrusion, carbon fiber composites, mechanical property characterization, ability to characterize mechanical properties using single fibers, FTIR and PCA, Physi and chemisorption, and carbon fiber processing.

 



Qualifications

 

Requirements:

 

A PhD in Natural Resources with Wood and Engineering, or Civil Engineering with emphasis in Polymer Composite Materials characterization is required.

• Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of scientific and technical personnel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
