Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate I for NJMS- Radiology. The Research Associate I helps develop the research interests in the department including artificial intelligence and population health.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Helps develop research interests in the department including artificial intelligence and population health (i.e. follow up of imaging incidentalomas, opportunistic screening).
  • Assists both faculty and trainees develop their research ideas and help increase the academic productivity of the department
  • Assists in identifying software applications that can be implemented to further the artificial intelligence implementation within the department
  • Participates in the development and refining research protocols using appropriate methodology in conjunction with faculty, residents and students.
  • Participates in the development of research ideas and translate them into executable research protocols.
  • Develops and coordinates research studies of mutual interest, with other departments of the medical school and University hospital.
  • Identifies funding opportunities, helps faculty through grant applications and develops a robust grant portfolio for the department
  • Initiates and champions the IRB application and approval process

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • PhD or a Master’s Degree in a relevant science
  • Plus three (3) years of related experience
  • Individuals with a bioinformatics background are highly encouraged to apply 

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with our faculty, students and residents.
  • Sound knowledge of IRB process, research methodology, statistical analysis and data interpretation. Proficiency with computer skills, literature searches and the use of statistical software, such as SPSS, SAS.
