Job Summary:

Dr. Annette Regan’s research group in the University of San Francisco’s School of Nursing and Health Professions is seeking a Part-Time Research Associate to join our team. This position is available for a minimum of one year, is part-time (0.6 FTE), with the possibility of continuation for a second year. The Research Associate is contingent upon competitive external research funding. If at any time external research funds are exhausted or not meeting the requirements of the institute, the position will be eliminated. The position is located in Orange, CA with the option to work remotely within the U.S. Dr. Regan’s team carries out research on real-world evaluation of vaccines in support of global pediatric, adolescent and adult immunization programs. The team currently has federally and internationally funded research projects that aim to evaluate COVID-19 vaccines among adolescent and pregnant populations, including pharmacoepidemiologic studies of vaccine safety and effectiveness, scale development for measuring vaccine hesitancy constructs, and identification of factors contributing to vaccine hesitancy in special-risk groups.

Full Job Description:

The part-time Research Associate (RA) will primarily support the team’s global work evaluating the safety and effectiveness of vaccine programs. The RA will be responsible for maintaining updated literature on maternal vaccine programs, assisting in secondary data collection, facilitating study reporting (i.e., coordinating and preparing reports for ethics committees and funding agencies), and will have the opportunity to contribute to project outputs, including scientific presentations and publications.

The team is invested in the professional growth of all postgraduate trainee members, and the RA will additionally be expected to participate in trainings and networking opportunities, as recommended by the Principal Investigator.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prepare reports for IRBs and funding agencies

  • Coordinate and participate in study data collection

  • Manage study datasets

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of regular reports for research team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • The ability to work effectively within a remote team environment

  • Experience manipulating or managing health-related data

  • Strong equity lens, cultural humility and proven ability to work well in a diverse context.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field

  • Previous experience preparing reports for study teams or funding agencies

  • Successful completion of CITI Human Subjects Research course (either Biomedical or Social-Behavioral-Educational; can be completed upon hire)
