Research Associate
Research Associate In the Fernandez Ruiz lab involving primary research and related professional activities associated with a long-term research project focused on the study of the neural. circuit mechanisms or rodent natural behaviors.

The basic functions and responsibilities will include the following. Develop and deploy novel tools for wireless recording and manipulation of neural circuit dynamics in behaving rodents. Perform behavioral experiments and computational analyses of neural data in behaving rodents, leading to publication of technical articles in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of results at professional meetings. Working in conjunction with the PI on the design and implementing the tools designed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research (80%): The primary role of the Research Associate is to engage in innovative research related to the computational basis of learning and memory in rodent models.
Publication and Presentation (15%): The Research Associate is expected to prepare results of his/her studies for publication in a timely manner, to create presentations for lab meetings, conferences, and invited seminars, and to provide data and data summaries to supervisor when requested.
Instruction (5%): The Research Associate is expected to teach new lab members methods, techniques, and expectations, as requested by supervisor.
This is a one-year term position, renewable depending on funding, available work, and performance.
Qualifications:
Educational degrees: Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field with at least five years of experience post-PhD. Specific skills and technical/administrative training: a strong quantitative background, experience with instrumentation and electronics applied to neuroscience, experience with rodent behavioral experiments and neural data analysis.
Amount of job related experience: Post- graduate training in engineering and neuroscience.
Preferred skills: Electronics, circuit design, programming, rodent experiments, electrophysiology.
Supervision Antonio Fernandez Ruiz and Azahara Oliva.
The research associate may assist in advising graduate and undergraduate students who are carrying out research.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Pay Ranges: The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria: * Prior relevant work and research experience. * Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position. * Academic Discipline * Unique applicable skills.

Pay Range:
$49,100.00 - $94,700.00Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
