Research Associate, Alice Project - UEIS

Carnegie Mellon University’s department of UEIS, Entertainment Technology Center, is searching for a Research Associate I to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by working with the Lead Developer of the Alice Project.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Code improvements to Alice 3 IDE, The Alice Player and Alice build processes
  • Research and development work will primarily be in Java and C#, also requiring familiarity with Unity and VR platforms.
  • Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
  • Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures. Researches and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.

You should demonstrate:

  • Data collection and analysis experience
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Research methodology experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1-3 years experience

Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time (20 of hours), non-exempt position
  • Fixed Term: This is a fixed term position with an estimated duration of 6 months.
