Position Summary
This position will be a research assistant for research projects within UNC’s Program on Integrative Medicine. The primary project this position will support is research projects (Project BrEAtHe and/or SMILE) which will conduct most study activities at the UNC Center for Rehabilitation Care (Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). The primary function of the Research Assistant position will be to recruit and enroll participants, collect, and enter data, assist with preparing study-related data materials, and build and manage the study’s database.
The research assistant will also handle quality control of data collected and assist with IRB and other regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with data management, including building/revising the REDCap database and entering and monitoring data into REDCap.
* Collect and review participant data, including in-person and telephone data collection.
* Recruit and enroll study participants.
* Assist with tracking participants as they complete study time points.
* Interact and follow up with the participants.
* Assisted with other study-related tasks, including creating/modifying recruitment materials, preparing intervention materials, preparing study reports, and preparing any other study-related documents.
* Assist with regulatory documentation, including IRB submissions, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills are required. Must be proficient in using software to create and manage databases, such as REDCap, spreadsheets, and document preparation. Ability to work independently is necessary. The candidate must be comfortable with in-person and telephone interaction and interviewing.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of and research experience in integrative medicine modalities is strongly preferred.
