Job Overview

The Georgetown Street Law Program , born at the Law Center in 1972, sends law students into the community to teach law and law-related classes. The oldest course of its kind, the Street Law practicum is a national and international model, with more than 120 law schools operating Street Law programs in the United States and internationally, with more Street Law and Street Law adjacent courses growing every year. The number of students in other Street Law and Street Law adjacent courses worldwide is estimated to be hundreds of thousands.

Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States of America, is among the noteworthy Street Law alums and has publicly attributed her commitment to justice and understanding of the law to her Street Law experience.

Street Law partners with numerous organizations to create a curriculum that makes the law accessible to lay people. These partnerships generate revenue and goodwill domestically and internationally for Street Law and Georgetown University.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

The Research Assistant - in a temporary role - plays an essential role in assisting faculty with the Street Law Clinics work of teaching practical legal principles with both public and charter high school students throughout the District of Columbia.

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Requirements and Qualifications

  • J.D. degree
  • Familiarity with our instructional pedagogy
  • Excellent skills in written, verbal communication, research capabilities, time management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
