This position is a Research Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure) position. This is a 9-month appointment with 100% research and 0% teaching and Extension. The initial appointment will be as a .5 FTE for one year. The individual is expected to cover their salary with grant funding.

The individual will conduct research in the field of development economics. Projects will improve understanding of subjects such as women's financial inclusion, digital financial services, and labor-force participation in low-income countries. This individual will lead research teams and collaborate to publish research results; submit research grant proposals; give conference presentations; and give advice to graduate students. The expected start date is July 1, 2024.

Required qualifications: PhD in economics or applied economics; a record of journal publication success; experience leading research teams in low-income countries.

The Department

The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) is a national leader in applied economics with cutting-edge programs in agricultural economics and agribusiness; environmental and natural resource economics; sustainability; international and development economics; and urban, regional and community economics. We couple our top-three ranked research program with education and outreach in fulfillment of the universitys Land Grant mission. In addition to our PhD program and our professional Master of Applied Economics, we offer two B.S. degree programs: Agribusiness and Applied Economics (AAE) and Environment and Natural Resources: Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability (EEDS). CFAES houses 11 departments/schools with over 20 undergraduate majors and 9 graduate programs , including 3 interdisciplinary programs affiliated with multiple Ohio State colleges. We also administer OSU Extension , which provides robust and relevant programming to Ohioans and beyond in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources , 4-H Youth Development , Family and Consumer Sciences , and Community Development . We are one college spanning three campuses: Columbus, CFAES Wooster, and Statewide. Our CFAES Wooster campus includes a large research station and Ohio States only two-year academic unit, Ohio State ATI . The Statewide campus includes 11 research stations and Extension offices in all of Ohios 88 counties.
