Job Description Summary:
The newly established Computation Genomics Lab at Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, University of Kansas Medical Center, is accepting applications for a Research Assistant position in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics. The candidate will work on various projects in computational genomics, comparative, and evolutionary genomics.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications
Education: Masters degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Work Experience: Strong command over Linux operating system and programming in R.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
2 years or relevant experience.
Bioinformatics training.
Job Duties Outlined:
Use programming knowledge to help shape the scientific and computational infrastructure of the division
Contribute to applications for research grants
Contribute to manuscript development for publication
Aid in training other research assistants, graduate students, and other junior colleagues
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
