Job Description Summary:
The Biostatistics Center of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center serves as the data coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiologic studies funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other Federal agencies. In this position the Research Assistant will work on NIH funded clinical research studies conducted by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver NICHD Maternal Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network. The successful candidate will assist with research study management and administration, working independently as well as in a team. The position will be responsible for maintaining data quality and reporting and will act as the liaison with MFMU clinical sites.
Essential duties include:
-Conducts database management, data editing and auditing using programming skills as required (JavaScript & SAS), including detailed review of SAS logs and output.
-Monitors compliance with research study protocol.
-Maintains tracking of clinical site staff certification status for research study.
-Uses detailed knowledge of protocol, manual of procedures, data forms, and other study documents to answer queries from clinical center staff and to interact with in-house team.
-Identifies and troubleshoots data problems and provides prompt follow-through to resolution.
-Maintains tracking of research study supplies both in-house and at clinical center sites. Orders study drug supplies for shipment to clinical sites as necessary.
-Assists in the central review and adjudication of study outcomes including detailed review of patient medical records for redaction.
-Participates in study group meetings with project team and protocol subcommittee.
-Assists in preparing final research study documentation and archival, as required.
-Documents all new processes and procedures, as well as maintains study documents and documentation of changes.
-Performs maintenance tasks on study website; performs data entry of forms as required (minimal).
-Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
