Position Summary

The Research Assistant will be responsible for a number of tasks related to federally-funded studies, some basic science research studies, some on community-based interventions (e.g., programs teens, families, perinatal health). The primary responsibilities for the Research Assistant are assisting Principal Investigators and the study team with all stages of the research, from IRB submission and maintenance, recruiting/enrolling participants, running with research study visits and administering surveys, and data entry and cleaning. Administrative and clerical tasks are also included, such as scheduling, note taking, other record keeping, database management, and purchasing office supplies and materials. The Research Assistant will work very closely with other research staff and community partners, and therefore must have excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires an in-person, flexible schedule and the ability to travel to various locations around metro Denver. The position is fulltime and comes with University of Denver’s full benefits package.

Essential Functions

The primary responsibilities for the Research Assistant are:

  • Outreach to participants, managing data, and data collection (e.g., participant enrollment, survey administration)
  • Other research-related tasks (e.g., literature reviews, publication support)
  • Administrative meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a variety of stakeholders in person, by phone, through written project materials and by email
  • Ability to draft narrative reports and correspondence
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), SPSS
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, REDCap, Qualtrics
  • Prior experience working as a research assistant in psychology research

Working Environment

1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Salary Grade

The salary grade number for this position is 6.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $20.00-$25.00
