Job Description
The primary responsibilities of a research assistant are to assist the assigned faculty with the delivery of a research project. After appropriate training and approval by Physical Therapy Department Chair, specific assignments include but are not limited to the following:
1. Assist with office/clerical duties as needed such as recruitment materials, information flyers, scheduling of participants, and follow up calls and meetings with participants.
2. Organize, maintain, and assist with transport and set up of equipment, supplies, and tools for research project both on and off-campus research locations.
3. Obtain orientation, training, and IRB certifications to participate in data collection.
5. Assist faculty with completion of data collection.
6. Assist faculty with organization of data, security measures for data, and analysis of data.
7. Assist with inventory of research supplies.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Successfully admitted into the College of Graduate Studies and Research; a current doctoral student in the Angelo State University Physical Therapy Program.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills (including written, grammatical, and spoken).
· Proficiency in Excel is required. Experience with statistics preferred.
· Positive contributor working with students, staff, faculty, and data collection population.
· Organized and self-motivated to take initiative to work independently and as an enthusiastic member of the Physical Therapy Department.
