Position Summary

The candidate will work closely with an Assistant Professor of Neurology on multiple clinical research studies for Parkinson's disease, spanning genetic epidemiology, biomarkers, and brain bank donation. This role involves significant patient interaction and collaboration with physicians and administrator.


Responsibilities

The position involves many distinct roles and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Screen charts, recruit and consent subjects (Parkinson's disease patients and healthy controls) in-person for multiple clinical research studies.
  • Conduct clinical interviews with study patients using study-specific assessments, including vitals, review of medical history, and cognitive/neuropsychological testing.
  • Accurately collect and enter data into electronic case report forms
  • Analyze data from Excel and SPSS databases; perform statistical/hypothesis testing and summarize key findings
  • Organize and help digitize brain bank database
  • Collect and process blood and other biological samples per diagnostic/experimental study protocol
  • Perform IRB regulatory submissions: write and edit project summary protocols and consent forms; update the protocols for modifications and renewals when necessary
  • Assist with writing and editing manuscripts and grants as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing/cleaning databases and fluency with statistics are strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Excel and SPSS is Preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
