The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Research Assistant will coordinate a variety of studies involving clinical evaluation, data entry, and biological specimen collection in accordance with established hospital protocols and procedures, under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and Research Project Manager at the Center for Translational and Computational Neuroimmunology (CTCN) and Multiple Sclerosis Center.


Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the Principal Investigator and project manager, coordinates the clinical assessments of the study subjects including but not limited to recruitment, screening, and enrollment of the study subjects.
  • Performs data entry and quality assurance checks for administered assessments and questionnaires.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator and regulatory staff in the preparation of new IRB protocol submissions, protocol amendments, and renewals of ongoing research projects.
  • Independently obtains informed consent for clinical studies.
  • Under supervision of the Principal Investigator and project manager, responsible for collecting study related data and biological specimens. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques required.

Other Requirements

  • General knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Good organizational skills, detail oriented, strong multitasking skills.

  • Able to show initiative, identify problems, and propose solutions to supervisor.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Ability to accurately record data.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and positive attitude.

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and flexibility.
