The position involves performing data processing and specialized computational analyses of large-scale transcriptomic RNA sequencing datasets for three multi-PI projects. The position reports directly to multi-Principal Investigators, Dr. Maria Medalla, as the main supervisor, and her collaborators, Drs. Tara Moore and Ella Zeldich. The position entails also working closely and consulting with Dr. Joshua Campbell, our bioinformatics consultant and collaborator.

This position will be independently responsible for the analyses and rigor of bioinformatics data and complex statistical approaches. This position requires knowledge of computational statistical and bioinformatics methods, and the ability to independently solve a range of complex computational problems. The nature of the work involves independent analyses of data and often involves troubleshooting and making decisions made under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, while still producing effective end results. The position requires independent judgment in determining how to achieve the expected results.

This position requires knowledge of computational bioinformatics methods for analyses of large scale transcriptomic and proteomic data; knowledge of coding, specifically Python and R packages for bioinformatics computational toolkits; and the ability to collaborate with experimental scientists and work in a team setting to analyze large scale datasets.


Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of related experience.
