Research and Program Coordinator

The Opportunity:


The Research Program Coordinator provides specialized technical/scientific support directly to research projects and enhances the quality and reliability of data in research projects. This position maintains day-to-day operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Monthly or bimonthly instrumentation calibration and maintenance of in-house gas chromatography systems.

  • Establish good SOPs for in-house analytical methods to enhance data quality and reproducibility.

  • Assist with in-house analytical activities and data interpretations.

  • Train new users on instrumentation. For analytical needs not covered by in-house capabilities, the candidate will participate in instrument procurement or be the point of contact for third-party analytical services.

  • Build a digital inventory of lab equipment, tools, and maintenance of the chemical inventory.

  • Point of contact for EH&S inspections and other safety-related regulations.

  • Lead housekeeping activities such as lab cleaning, ordering consumables, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field.

  • Hands-on experience in maintaining, repairing, and calibrating analytical instrumentation.

  • 3+ years of experience in analytical chemistry using instrumentation such as gas chromatography, familiar with industrial report writing and associated standardization.

  • 5+ years of experience working in wet labs and familiar with handling hazardous materials and risk management.
