Job Summary
This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at (College of Pharmacy) if they are healthy and without COVID-19 symptoms
This position supports the Anticonvulsant Drug Development (ADD) Program, an established laboratory experienced in the preclinical identification and evaluation of investigational compounds for the treatment of epilepsy. The Research Analyst is in charge of Project Management of subcontracts and contracts with external sponsors (coordination, planning, pricing, data analysis and reports) to perform experiments in models for Epilepsy. This position is also involved in the improvement of quality control (Case Report Forms, Standard Operating Procedure, Study Reports) and Communication (Science Writing- Social Media- Outreach). A strong candidate for this position would have strong organizational skills, experience with project management and outstanding communication skills.
Responsibilities
Compiles data from a variety of sources. Enters data into the computer system. Assists in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation materials. Maintains files and records of research data. Drafts correspondence to answer inquiries and respond to requests about the projects. Edits research papers, project reports, and publication materials. May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.
Preferences
PhD in the biomedical sciences (biology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and related areas)
Experience in managing multiple ongoing projects
Experience in scientific communication (manuscripts, reports)
Experience in grant writing (NIH, NSF).
