Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.
Shift
Primarily day shift. Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Some evenings and weekends are possible due to experimentation.
Job Summary
Our laboratory is interested in elucidating the mechanisms that mediate recently identified genetic risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease. The successful applicant will be expected to be highly organized, able to demonstrate the ability to generate experimental data, to have strong communication skills, and to be a team player.
The ideal candidate will have experience with molecular biology skills such as qPCR and cell biology skills such as cell culture and Western blots. Additional beneficial experience includes mouse colony management. Experience in laboratory management is also highly valued (IACUC protocols, purchasing/ordering, lab maintenance, etc).
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Proficient in molecular biology skills such as PCR; Basic lab skills, (e.g., pipetting); basic computer skills (e.g., MS windows, excel).

Preferred Education/Experience
Preferred degree in a related field (science preferred) and Research laboratory experience.
