Physical Requirements
Sitting at computer for extended periods of time, repetitive motion, and general lab duties. Lifting, pushing, pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
Shift
Monday – Friday; varies between 8 am – 4:30 pm; may require some evenings/weekends as needed/required to meet deadlines.
Job Summary
The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, Equine Analytical Chemistry Lab seeks a Research Analyst. The Research Analyst position is responsible for, but not limited to: participating in departmental research project activities. Analyze all test samples submitted using only the approved methods as described in the SOP’s. Perform extraction methods for the detection of drugs and/or metabolites. Assists with properly maintaining facilities, instruments, and equipment. Assist in monitor/recording maintenance on equipment in facilities involving; routine cleaning or decontamination. Ensure accurate and complete documentation of samples and results. Preparing complete description of the analysis performed and providing relevant tables and figures to the director and LC-Ms Scientist. Other duties as required or necessary. This position is located at the Coldstream campus on Bull Lea Run off Newtown Pike. This position has no direct equine contact. For more information: https://eacl.ca.uky.edu/

Preferred Education/Experience
MS degree in chemistry, biology or related science is preferred.
