Research Technician to assist and communicate with Principal Investigator (PI) Christopher Fang-Yen in management of the research lab and lab experiments; assists with preparation of laboratory media including agar plates, solutions; assists with management of bacterial and C. elegans cultures; assists with experiments including behavioral studies, microscopy assays, optogenetic studies, and molecular biology work; assists with data analysis using commercial and/or custom software; oversee ordering and inventory levels for laboratory reagents; coordinates lab inspections; performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required: High School Graduate or Associate degree


Desired: Bachelors degree in (Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Physics or Equivalent) or Engineering (Biomedical, Chemical, Materials, or Equivalent) or an equivalent combination of education or experience required; previous experience with biological laboratory work; Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge to research required. Ability to work with other researchers and communicate clearly in a group setting; Computer programming skills

The target hiring range for this job profile is $14.57 - $19.43 per hour, paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
