Job Description:

This Anesthesiology Education Office (AEO) position provides advanced support in administering the UF College of Medicine (COM) undergraduate clinical courses in the Department of Anesthesiology. This position coordinates all aspects of medical student clinical training in the Department of Anesthesiology, including the fourth-year anesthesiology clerkship, fourth-year electives, first- and second-year preceptorships, and visiting student rotations. The coordinator works closely with the clerkship director, assistant director, education administration, rotation leaders, and teaching faculty to ensure the highest level of clinical education is developed, delivered, and implemented for fourth-year medical students and other learners.

The duties are as follows:

Working independently, the coordinator is the primary administrator responsible for course management, scheduling, and planning of the MS4 Anesthesiology & Critical Care Clerkship (MDC7700). Develops and maintains appropriate and comprehensive course management systems using Canvas and New Innovations. Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the medical student curriculum including all modules, quizzes, and assignments. Advises current students on all aspects of the anesthesiology clinical courses and monitors student progress throughout their courses. Creates appropriate pairings and assignments with anesthesiology residents. Schedules and coordinates all didactic and simulation sessions. Enters student grades at the direction of the clerkship director. Composes and maintains program manuals and handbooks and develops and maintains record-keeping systems. Ensures compliance with all Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), UF, and COM policies. Works cooperatively with UF Jacksonville clerkship leadership for student scheduling and effort reporting between locations.
The coordinator is responsible for managing the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) process including screening application packets, recommending acceptance of qualified applicants, sending invitations, and scheduling clinical rotations. Ensures all documentation is completed for students’ home institutions. Works closely with the COM to ensure accuracy in scheduling and maintain a balance of learners across teaching areas. Assists with scheduling related to residency recruitment for eligible students.
The coordinator is responsible for scheduling, course management, evaluation, and grading coordination for the MS4 anesthesiology elective courses and Leadership Development Program. Assists faculty in course preparation and student communications. Assigns evaluations by students, residents, and faculty and ensures they are completed on time.
The coordinator is responsible for effort reporting for academic teaching and course development related to the clerkship and electives. Prepares and submits all reports accurately and on time.
The coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support as directed within the Anesthesiology Education Office.
The coordinator is responsible for scheduling and managing the MS1 and MS2 preceptor experiences and Anesthesiology Interest Group shadowing. Acts as a liaison for the department with prospective students interested in anesthesiology, including MS1, MS2, and MS4 UF students and MS4 visiting students. 
Identifies, develops, and implements policies and procedures to comply with COM and LCME guidance on changing regulations and institutional policies. Responsible for preparing for internal and external program reviews. Compiles evaluations and data for institutional records.


Expected Salary:

$42,000 - $55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
