Position Description | Religion and Public Life Humanitarian Action Fellow in the Religious Literacy and the Professions Initiative (RLPI) at Harvard Divinity School As a Religion and Public Life (RPL) Fellow, you will join a cohort of Religious Literacy and the Professions Fellows who will work closely with Dr. Diane L. Moore, Dr. Hussein Rashid, other faculty, and staff colleagues in service of the Certificate in Religion and Public Life (CRPL). The CRPL at Harvard Divinity School offers MDiv and MTS students the opportunity to explore professional pathways outside of traditional ministry or academic scholarship. The certificate is anchored by a cohort of Religious Literacy and the Professions Fellows working in close collaboration with RPL faculty to support coursework, internships and capstone projects designed to provide students the tools, skills, and experience to advance the public understanding of religion in a range of professional fields. Religious Literacy and the Professions Fellows are experienced professionals in their respective fields with a commitment to supporting HDS students in their professional discernment. Fellows do not require training or background in religious studies but must bring interest and commitment to advancing the public understanding of religion in their own field and in the broader cultural context. Religious Literacy and the Professions Fellows currently represent six professions: secondary education, journalism, government, humanitarian action, organizing, and arts and popular culture. This position is a part-time, virtual, non-resident academic appointment for the 2024-2025 academic year. The term of the fellowship begins August 1, 2024 and ends on May 31, 2025. |
