Job Summary

The Rehabilitative Services Aide, reports to the therapists of a particular serviceand provides both direct and indirect patient care services.

At this level, the employee is responsible for the therapeutic intervention of patients who require the direct supervision and daily guidance of an occupational or physical therapist.

Works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.


Required Qualifications

  • Prior patient care experience in inpatient/outpatient/or related rehab setting; or volunteer experience in rehab or related setting
  • Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification
  • High School diploma; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to recognize signs of distress
  • Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication
  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and self-initiation skills
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team
  • Experience working in an academic medical center environment
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

License/Certification

  • Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification
