Position Responsibilities
Position Summary | Position Summary The University of Idaho’s Department of Art & Design seeks applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in Visual Design. The Art and Design faculty member is expected to teach according to the needs of the program and as directed by the Department Chair. The faculty member will conduct research in the field of visual design; publish research in peer reviewed journals or curate or exhibit in solo and/or group exhibitions regionally, nationally, and internationally; present findings at professional conferences, and submit proposals to extramural agencies to fund this work. The faculty member is expected to participate in some outreach activities as directed by their chair or dean. The faculty member is expected to attend faculty meetings, and to participate in committees at the department level and the college and/or university level. Description of Expectations This faculty member is expected to teach a 2:3 load in Art and Design according to the needs of the department and as directed by the department chair. The faculty member will conduct research in art and design and design outreach; publish such research in peer reviewed journals or exhibit in solo and/or group exhibitions regionally, nationally, and internationally; present findings at professional conferences, and submit proposals to extramural agencies to fund this work. The faculty member is expected to attend faculty meetings, and to participate in committees at the department level and the college or university level. In addition, this faculty member will serve in regional and national extramural organizations. |
