Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
The University of Idaho, Department of Agricultural, Leadership, Education and Communication, is hiring an Assistant professor for a tenure track Academic year Regular Faculty appointment. The faculty member is expected to teach 4-6 courses per academic year, including lectures, labs, internships, practicums, and special projects (12-18 credit hours per year) in Agricultural Communications and/or Agricultural Leadership coursework (65%). The faculty member will provide leadership for the distance education degree program in Agricultural Science, Communications and Leadership (5%). They will also plan & conduct research and complete other scholarly activities related to Agricultural Communications and/or Agricultural Leadership (30%).

Qualifications


Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications
  • An earned PhD in Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Leadership, or closely related field (by date of hire). 
  • Experience teaching at the college level in either agricultural communications or agricultural leadership (including graduate assistantships, etc.).
  • Experience communicating and working collaboratively with students, peers and clientele groups.
  • Experience in computer and/or other educational technology applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating and developing programming for youth organizations.
  • Industry experience in agricultural communications and/or leadership.
  • Technical communications skills including social media, print media, videography, photography and/or journalistic writing.
