Position Title Registration Specialist

Position Summary
The Registration Specialist is responsible for processing registration, scheduling, and grading adjustments, as well as communicating and adhering to related policies and procedures across the university community. The Registration Specialist reports to the Assistant Registrar for Registration.

Description of Job Duties
  • Reviews, verifies, and processes grade information for in-progress grade requests, change of grade requests, and Study Abroad grades for the Broadway Campus, School of Professional Studies, and all Professional schools according to established policies and guidelines utilizing Banner SIS.
  • Processes registration inquiries from students, advisors, and other institutional staff for the Broadway Campus student population. Assists with School of Professional Studies and all Professional schools as requested.
  • Processes study abroad registration and serves as primary contact with the Office of Study Abroad.
  • Manages procedures and processing for inter-institutional enrollment.
  • Oversees independent study enrollment for the university.
  • Documents student registration records in accordance with policy and academic calendar.

  • Performs course data entry for the Broadway Campus academic course schedule.
  • Collaborates with academic departments to create a conflict-free, accurate schedule that balances efficiency, department needs, and university policy for each semester.
  • Assists with Professional school(s) course schedule development as requested.

  • Provides quality customer service for all stakeholders: students, parents, staff, and faculty.  Customer service interactions include phone, email, and in-person.
  • Ensures complete customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains client records and documents processes.
  • Redirects stakeholders to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Assists the Office of the Registrar with troubleshooting problems and implementing resolutions.

  • Assists with developing and maintaining manuals for registration-related systems and duties.
  • Serves as a secondary registration trainer for faculty/staff/administration in the university community.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university. Note that relevant experience in a complex office environment will be considered in lieu of said degree on a year for year basis.
Required Work Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a fast paced office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Ellucian Banner software experience.

Work Hours
Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals, especially during peak periods.
