The CRANE Lab, within the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sylvester; www.sylvester.org) is currently accepting applications for a registered dietitian with specific interests in Research and Oncology. The CRANE Lab provides an excellent platform for training and career development including a diverse and broad scientific portfolio of cancer survivorship-related studies, a robust health informatics core, expertise in technology-based and EHR integrated assessment and intervention tools for symptom and toxicities management, health disparities, sociocultural and biobehavioral approaches, and collaborative projects within and outside of the University of Miami. This role is hybrid, with both dedicated office.

The following are considered essential to the role: 

•    Bilingual in English and Spanish required. 
•    Complete CITI-training in the Protection of Human Participants and other training as indicated.
•    Familiarity with nutrition-related software and tools for data collection and analysis (such as NDSR, 24-hour diet recalls).
•    Perform study-related tasks including participant scheduling, data collection, intervention delivery, data reporting, and participant retention. 
•    Supervise delivery of nutrition interventions for research participants, ensuring protocol fidelity and participant safety. 
•    Flexibility, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills to meet the needs of research participants and clinical trials. 
•    Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, to seamlessly integrate into a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of students, researchers, clinical professionals, and more. 

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Research Dietitian to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of the intricate relationship between nutrition and cancer. The successful candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contribute to cutting-edge research projects, and make a meaningful impact on improving the lives of cancer patients through evidence-based dietary interventions for the diverse catchment area Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center serves.

•    Collaborate with members of the research and healthcare teams to design and implement research studies focusing on the effects of diet on cancer care across the continuum from  prevention, to treatment, and into survivorship.
•    Recruit and screen study participants, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and informed consent protocols.
•    Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and provide personalized dietary interventions for research participants.
•    Contribute to the development and manage dietary interventions, coordinating closely with participants to monitor adherence and collecting relevant data.
•    Analyze collected data and contribute to the interpretation of research findings, assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
•    Remain up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology nutrition and contribute to the development of evidence-based guidelines.
•    Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss research progress, insights, and potential areas for improvement
•    Other duties as assigned

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
