Purpose
 

To provide comprehensive professional nursing care in a variety of clinical settings including general procedural and peri-procedural care as well as specialized vein treatment. This role requires effective collaboration with physicians and other clinic staff to ensure a high-quality, seamless treatment experience for our patients. The nurse will maintain a dual focus on general nursing responsibilities and specialized vein care, including pre-procedural preparation, intra-procedural assistance, and post-procedural follow-up. Other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 

  • Clinical Excellence & Patient Safety:
    • Prepare, maintain, and select equipment, instruments, and supplies for a variety of procedures, optimizing procedure flow and maintaining a sterile environment.
    • Assist in a range of treatments such as sclerotherapy and endovenous ablation, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
    • Perform patient rooming, vital signs assessment, and thorough documentation in the EMR.
    • Implement and communicate comprehensive nursing plans of care following physician directives, including test results, treatment modalities, and prescription information.
    • Triage patient concerns via telephone, offer nursing advice, and coordinate care following clinic protocols.
    • Monitor and document treatment progress with a sharp focus on venous conditions, facilitating the diagnostic process when necessary.
    • Provide patient and family education on health, venous conditions, and specific treatments, securing informed consent.
  • Clinical & Practice Support:
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex health conditions.
    • Conduct and interpret venous ultrasounds to evaluate venous insufficiency, collaborating closely with the treating physician.
    • Manage administrative tasks, such as data entry, appointment scheduling, and healthcare form completion to support clinic operations.
    • Assist in managing supply inventory and adhere to OSHA policies to maintain a safe and compliant clinic environment.
    • Help maintain patient flow to ensure an efficient and quality service experience, upholding patient confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of biology, clinical judgment, medicine, and consulting.
  • Medical documentation, interpersonal, practice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and decision-making skills.

Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education:               Associate’s Degree

Minimum Required Experience:              2 years

Preferred Education:                              Bachelor’s Degree

Certification:                                          Current Wisconsin RN License
