The University of Miami Hospital at UTower, GI Nursing Clinics department has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse Care Coordinator.

The GI nurse care coordinator is a clinically trained health professional with strong background in GI who will improve care coordination within the UHealth GI department and streamline clinical workflow by working in collaboration with our GI providers and other GI or hospital departments. By working closely with our GI providers and becoming the primary contact for patients, family members, physicians in the community, the GI nurse care coordinator can improve the responsiveness and efficiency of our service line, allowing our providers to see more patients in the clinic and significantly reduce the wait time for patients needing to see a GI provider. By facilitating the patient movement through the system, patients can experience a seamless entry from the clinic to the procedures and other diagnostic services which can help elevate the patient experience. With the GI nurse liaison triaging the inboxes, GI providers are assured their patients are getting timely response and attention, allowing them more time to spend with patients. The GI nurse care coordinator will help deliver care that supports the mission of the GI service line to become the community’s first choice when it comes to their digestive health issues and propel UHealth to become a state-of-the-art academic medical center that aims to transform patient care through innovative research.
