  • Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients and families in the Pediatric Infusion Center at CW Mott Childrens Hospital.
  • Coordinate the nursing care of patients in the pediatric infusion area. To provide efficient throughput, the nurse in this role will provide nursing care to patients and families of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and pediatric multi-specialty divisions receiving infusion therapy.

  • The candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.
  • The candidate will have excellent computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft software applications.
  • They will participate in the development of department goals and objectives by attending staff meetings, in-service programs, attending appropriate continuing education opportunities, staff development programs, as well as participating in Quality Improvement initiatives to support implementation of change.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills through use of the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships within and between units and individuals.
  • Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
  • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
  • Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.

        A current license in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.

?         Minimum of three (3) years of recent (within last five (5) years) experience as a Registered Nurse in a Hematology/Oncology inpatient or ambulatory care setting demonstrating experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy.

?         Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification (ONS, APHON, Michigan Medicine Chemo/Bio Course)

?         At least one (1) year of pediatric experience in the last five (5) years

  • BSN
  • One (1) year of ICU, ED, or BMT experience
  • PALS
  • Professional nursing certification (CPHON, BMTCN, or Infusion Certification preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with pediatric infusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to start peripheral IV access.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $38.26-$59.35 / hour

  • Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour
  • Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour
  • Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour
  • Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
  • Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Hours/Week: 40 hours per week. 8-hour or 9hr shifts

Shift/Hours/Days: Day/ Evening Shift;  Monday thru Friday with a possibility of weekend and holidays. Hours will vary, and flexibility is required.

Monday through Friday during infusion operating hours: 7:30a to 6:30p

Location: CW Mott Childrens Hospital. This is not a remote position. The nurse will be expected to be in person and on-site.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
