The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy administration.

The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing infusion treatment; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers.

The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan

Two (2) years or more of RN experience

Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 3 years) RN experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy.

Two (2) or more years of recent (in the last 3 years) hematology/oncology RN experience

Recent Ambulatory Care Experience
Demonstrated ability to start IV?s
Certification by Oncology Certified Nurse- (OCN), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI)
Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.  Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
 

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Hours: 36 hrs/wk

Shift: Day/Evenings: Variable days of the week, includes weekends and some holidays. Variable shift lengths and flexibility is required.

Standard hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 7:30a-6pm and Sundays 8a-4:30p, with extended hours for continued patient care.

Location and home unit: Infusion at the CW Mott Hospital Adult Infusion Clinic.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
