Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm (Varies)


Job Summary: The Recycling Worker deposits and collects all recyclable materials on the University of Alabama campus. Aids in the transportation of all materials to appropriate private recycling collection centers and all record keeping and reporting of recycling activities.


Additional Department Summary: Must be able to perform those items in the job summary and in the essential functions. Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and the supplies that are required to complete the job successfully. Must is able to work in all weather conditions in order to complete the job.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Skills and Knowledge: Have advanced knowledge in customer service. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer).Have the ability to work without consistent supervision and follow up. Have a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to excellence.
