Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Inclusive Communities in managing approximately 100+ Honors Ambassadors (student volunteers who participate in recruitment events) and supervise 2-3 part-time Honors Ambassador Student Coordinators.
  • Participate in Honors College recruitment activities including, but not limited to, online chats, open houses, and Banneker/Key interview days.
  • Manage/coordinate the selection of new Honors Ambassadors and ensure Honors Ambassador participation at events, when needed.
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries about the Honors College and meet with prospective students and their families.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Must be a full-time, registered graduate student in good standing enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland, College Park.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills, responsible and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff and student Honors Ambassadors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Experience in participating in college recruitment events and/or working with college student.
  • Customer service experience, responding to inquiries.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Spreadsheets, Forms).

  • Evening work expected for Honors Ambassador events, recruitment events, and Honors College Convocation/Citation Ceremonies.
