Job Summary:

The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is looking for a Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator to serve the SDM Advanced Standing International Student Program (ISP) through student recruitment and admissions. This full-time, University Staff (unclassified) position that reports to the Manager of Admissions & Student Engagement for the ISP program.  The Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator will position is a key position within the school’s admissions, student life and inclusion team. This position collaborates with unit, division, department and school staff; this position will also work closely with external campus partners that include the Office of Student Financial Aid, Bursar’s Office, Registrar and other programs across the Anschutz Medical Campus.

We are seeking academic service professionals who are looking to develop in student recruitment and admissions. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus . Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., student events, professional development), but typically will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm. Hybrid options are strongly considered and will be determined by the Manager of Admissions & Student Engagement. All hybrid working arrangements are reviewed and approved by SDMHR Director and SDM leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff; responsible for being available to analyze and evaluation prospective and current students questions and be able to interpret  recruitment, pre-requisite, admissions, and/or matriculation questions.
  • Counsel and advise prospective students on the SDM dental education programs recruitment and admissions processes, timelines, deadlines, and individual application and candidacy status (i.e., application documents, troubleshooting portal and submission inquires / issues, inquiries regarding SDM dental educational programs, campus life and resources).
  • Oversee and coordinate student compliance for assigned student dental programs; ensure incoming dental students and annual immunizations (i.e., TB, flu shot) and certification records (i.e., BLS, first aid, glucometer, HIPPA) are completed within school timelines and deadlines.

Senior Level: In addition to the duties above, appointments at this level will…

  • Develop and evaluate strategic recruitment initiatives; analyze and evaluate current recruitment initiatives and communicate recommendations to department leadership.

  Student Life & Wellbeing (essential function – 20%):

  • Under the direction of the Associate Director of Admissions and Student Engagement, responsibilities include:
  • Organize and coordinate various student programs and services that support student engagement and wellness (i.e., stress management workshops, health fairs)
  • Provide resources and support for students seeking help with mental health issues, in collaboration with SDM and university partners.   

Event Coordination and Support (Essential Function – 10%)

  • Supporting and participating in new student orientation week program.
  • Provide support for planning, organizing, and execution of various SDM events (i.e., recruitment interview days, onboarding and orientation, annual commencement ceremony, annual student awards banquet, and annual White Coat Ceremony, student affair events); collaborate with various steering committees for each SDM event in event planning, logistics and/or participation.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year of experience with student recruitment and admissions.

Senior Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of experience with student recruitment and admissions.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Conditions of Employment:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience with student recruitment and admissions.
  • Experience working in an academic medical environment.
  • Experience working with student recruitment and admissions data effectively analyzing as well as identifying gaps and/or recommendations for change.
  • Experience with student recruitment and admissions business applications and technologies (i.e., WebAdmit, SIS, CRM)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to recruitment and admissions challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
  • Ability to take initiative with daily work activities and collaborates to create a positive effect on team performance.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting hiring range for this position has been established as:

Intermediate Professional: $36,740 - $49,232

Senior Professional: $39,719 - $53,224

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may is not eligible for overtime compensation.
