Job Summary
The Recruiting Specialist will be an integral part of the Caltech Human Resources team, supporting recruitment efforts for a variety of staff level positions across the Institute. The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks throughout the recruitment process. Additionally, the successful candidate will partner with recruiters and hiring managers to assist with sourcing, attracting, and screening candidates. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a passion for providing a great candidate experience.
Essential Job Duties
- Partner with recruiters to support the recruitment process by preparing and reviewing job requisitions, scheduling candidate interviews, and checking professional references.
- Assist with sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates through various channels, including platforms such as LinkedIn.
- Screen candidates and provide feedback.
- Provide a great candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment process.
- Coordinate and participate in job fairs and recruitment events.
- Assist with the posting of job descriptions on various platforms.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating onboarding tasks and conducting new hire orientation sessions.
- Collaborate with recruiting team members on various projects, such as employer branding initiatives and process improvements.
- Perform other related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Understanding of recruitment processes and candidate selection methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing a stellar candidate experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Team player mindset, with the ability to also work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sourcing for specialized or hard-to-fill roles.
- Familiarity with social media and professional networks for recruitment purposes.
- Knowledge of labor legislation and best practices in recruitment.
