The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Recreational Sports Facility Student Assistant - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega campus. The staff worker reports directly to Facilities Coordinator and Campus Recreation and Wellness Graduate Assistant. Facility staff worker must be knowledgeable of facility policies, procedures and overall Campus Recreation and Wellness departments.

  • Check-out sport and fitness equipment. 
  • Respond to emergencies, following Campus Recreation and Wellness Emergency Action Plan. 
  • Clean and organize equipment and weights in the fitness areas. 
  • Enforce Recreation Center policy and procedures. 
  • Provide spot or assistance to patrons in their workouts. 
  • Provide customer service to patrons by answering facility and university related questions. 
  • Supervise fitness areas, gymnasium and track to maintain a safe environment for patrons.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of exercise equipment and/or various exercises, spotting techniques and overall fitness programming. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task. 
  • Have a general knowledge and experience with aspects of health, fitness and recreation.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • The student must obtain a CPR/First Aid certification within one month of employment.
  • Lifeguard experience certification is a plus but not required.
