Job Description: | The Real Estate Researcher is responsible for conducting econometric and statistical analysis, supporting the analytical needs of fellow researchers, curating the data needed for such projects, and producing original research reports. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
SUPERVISION: The Real Estate Researcher works independently on major projects agreed upon with the Research Director and in general support of the Center. The individual in this position is expected to perform on own initiative, given limited direction. The position reports to the Research Director and may receive direction from the Center’s Executive Director. Supervision of this position will be daily interaction and occasional status meetings with verbal or written instructions as needed. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the office located on the University of Florida Gainesville main campus. This position is not a remote work job. Hours will vary during Center events and as needed to complete time-sensitive projects. There also may be occasional travel to meet the goals of the Center. COMMUNICATION: Interacts on a daily basis with students, staff, and faculty within the Center and more broadly at UF. These interactions will largely be related to research matters within the Center. May also interact with professionals in the real estate industry, media agents such as reporters, alumni and constituents of the Center. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

Expected Salary: |
$80,500 - $95,000 annual salary range |
Minimum Requirements: |
A Bachelor’s Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and seven years of experience; Master’s Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and five years of experience; Doctoral Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and three years of experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: | Ph.D. in a related field; or Master’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience. Proficiency with at least one statistical software package (Stata, SAS, R, Python, etc.). Interest in the business and real estate fields. Economics/Econometrics background. Advanced degrees and professional designations. Clear written and spoken communication. Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence. |
