Radiologist Technologist - Clinic - Sports Medicine

Position Description:
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Work Location: Radiology Operations/Sports Medicine, The UAB Hospital Highlands

Under general supervision and according to UAHSF established policies and procedures, provides a variety of specialized services that require interaction with patients, visitors and other members of the patient care team.  Greets patients and performs required medical testing (i.e. vital signs, lab work, etc) as designated by either physician or pre-designated protocol. Perform X-rays as ordered by a physician under the guidelines of radiology technician standards.   May prepare and collect charge tickets.  May prepare, order and distribute patient charts and update patient information.  Answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results and medication while in constant contact with attending physician.  Performs a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and decision making skills within well established parameters.


Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered or registry eligible for the ARRT certification in radiography. One year experience in a customer service or comparable capacity which demonstrates ability to interface appropriately and effectively with the public.  Excellent grammar and articulation skills.    

Preferred: Medical office experience in an occupational medicine or workman’s compensation setting would be preferred.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required:  Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or registry eligible.  Must become registered within one year of hire date.  Current CPR certification of must obtain within 30 days of hire.
