The Quality Associate I performs quality control assays, release tests and assists in assay development tasks.  Performs qualification and validation studies according to an approved plan or protocol that are essential to the cGMP production of biomedical products, which involves cell culture and cell bank maintenance including appropriate and accurate documentation.  

As a successful candidate, you will:

·         Assist and perform equipment daily QC and maintenance for release testing. Complete all documents associated with the testing in compliance to cGMP.

·         Perform general laboratory activities as assigned by supervisor. Culturing cells for assays and maintaining cell banks.   Up keeping of rudimentary lab equipment and perform release testing as assigned by supervisor.

·         Record keeping of internal inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and City of Hope and CBG procedure requirements. 

·         Creating, reviewing and revising Standard Operating Procedures as necessary. 

·         Complete and maintain all training required to perform assigned tasks. 

·         Cooperates with other performance improvement and compliance activities within the department and in the institution. 

·         Maintains current knowledge of analytical techniques and industry practices. 

·         Possess and demonstrate integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.  Follows established City of Hope and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. 

·         Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor. 


Your qualifications should include:

·         Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with coursework in biology and chemistry required. 

·         1-2 years post-Bachelors degree work experience in a laboratory, or 1 year post-Masters degree work experience in a laboratory.
