Public Safety Law Officer-Regnl Camp


Department:
FAES | CFAES Safety

Provides assistance in the planning, developing and implementing of public safety activities at a regional campus, extended-campus, or other University property distant from the Columbus campus; concerned with the general safety of the campus community to include fire, security, and other physical hazards or risks; conduct visual patrols and observation of campus facilities and grounds; direct vehicle and pedestrian movements as required; provides emergency first aid in medical emergencies; directs student employees or part-time auxiliary law enforcement officers as needed.


Position located in Wooster, OH.


Minimum Education Required
Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Additional Education Desired
2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in criminology & criminal justice.


Required Qualifications
Required: Minimum age 21; valid unrestricted Ohio operator's license upon appointment; minimum seventy-two (72) quarter college credit hours or
equivalent semester credit hours of documented college course work; or twelve (12) months public law enforcement experience; or equivalent combination
education and experience; or current Ohio Peace Officer certification; eligibility for faithful performance bond; must successfully complete medical/visual,
psychological, physical performance evaluations, polygraph, and other pre-employment requirements prescribed by the University and police department
prior to appointment, and possibly thereafter; no conviction record for felony or crime of moral turpitude.


Desired: Current Ohio Peace Office certification
