Job Description:

The psychotherapist provides diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy and referrals to students in psychological distress. The psychotherapist participates in psycho-educational activities that address students' developmental needs, and consults with faculty and staff regarding psychologically distressed students.

This is a 10-month position.

Job Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or equivalent), plus 2 years post-internship experience; or Master of Social Work plus 3 years post degree experience; or Mental Health Counselor plus 4 years post degree experience.

  • Licensure in one of the above categories in the State of RI. (Holding one of these licenses in another state and eligibility for licensure in RI will also meet this requirement.)

  • Demonstrated experience doing psycho-educational programming.

  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.

  • Experience doing clinical work in a university setting is strongly preferred.
